City Of St. Joseph Is All Abuzz Over Its Beach Bugs Art Exhibit

The City of St. Joseph announced its 2016 public art theme and logo, "Beach Bugs," at the city commission meeting, Nov. 9. The 13th annual outdoor art exhibit will be May 20 through Sept. 24 and feature 20 giant insects painted by regional artists. There will be five each of caterpillar, ladybug, snail and bee sculptures produced by Chicago Fiberglass Works.

"These bugs will have our downtown abuzz all summer long," said Susan Solon, St. Joseph communications and marketing manager. "The first Beach Bugs event will be the unveiling, May 20, from 5:30 to 8 p.m." Solon added that maps giving each bug's location will be available starting that day at the St. Joseph Welcome Center, 301 State St., or online at StJosephPublicArt.com.
